1. Could you tell me about yourself? (Your
name, home country)
This is Kunal, 12th standard from
Bihar , India
2. What are you planning to do after school?
I am interested in playing football and
selected as a state team player and now I am planning to join in my state coach
team for practicing for this summer. And also I have given my GRE and got a
enough good score but I am interested to improve even more to get into my dream
university.
3. Why did you choose to study at St.cloud University?
I planned a long back to get into an north
American university, where I can have all facilities to carry out my higher
education without any disturbance with complete support and assistance from the
professor under their supervision, with world class facilities in class,
library, and at sports etc helps me to develop my personal as well as
educational skills.
4. What is the difference in educational systems between your country and North America?
Yes, there is a lot. In here, the
educational system has rules on paper but not followed and has no right to ask
or fight for rules and even if some one dares we get no support for longer
time. But in America, the rules are strictly followed, it is proved, every student
has the right to fight for their rules, and duties, as a student to grow to any
extent is dependent on the student himself or herself in America. But in India,
we donot decide, our teachers decide at school. But nowadays there are few
schools adopted in India with international standards but they have a great fee
structure where normal individual in India cannot get into it.
5. Would you like to tell me about your country?
It has got a great history, but very bad
present situation. Great leaders in the past, but worst leaders in present and
may be the worst leaders for future, because the young generation who has
studied well is not taking into polity, to develop the country. And the
illiterate people have no minimum degree of educational qualifications and have
no systematic life structure with the influence of money etc, are entering to
polity. We in our state, in this modern technical world, donot even have the
Tar roads, having our chief minister at the central politician team under and
road and transport. Sorry to bother you, but our people really suffer with
this.
6. Could you tell me about your country's traditional process regarding marriage?
Marriage is a great time of an individual;
it is highly celebrated in our culture like a festival.
7. Can you tell me about activities that young people like to do in your country?
Yes, in my pace we work part time to
support our parents economically, because they get paid very less and if we sit
after the school, it will be very hard to lead our lives. And yes few of them
completely work without moving to schools since their childhood. And few of
them start working only after completion of their studies. This is entirely
dependent on the environment or surroundings in which they are brought up.
8. What are major holidays in your country?
Dassera, Diwali, Christmas, summer holidays
9. What is your traditional food?
Jawar roti with dal, rice with curry, curd.
10. How is the political system of your country structured?
It is a 1/3rd democratic
country, it include, by the people but for the politicians and officials and
government of the politicians and officials. Only they are just using the
people to be in their positions, this is possible for them because the literacy
rate is very less in India. Yes there may be few leaders who are good, but they
cannot fight with those cruel politicians, because they even remove them from
those powers from where they can reach and help few regions of people.
11. What are your country's major
religions?
Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Sikhs
12. What’s considered offensive in your country?
Many offensives [from theft to harassment,
murders, scams etc], but donot operate while it is a politician or official of
central or state government, but operates in strict when a normal individual
does. But most of crimes and offensives are made by the people with political
and official influence or support.
13. What do you perceive as differences between your culture and the American culture?
